What's for Lunch?

It's funny how what I eat for lunch has evolved throughout my life. I was never one to get school lunch, except for 7th grade, where they offered "hot lunch" and "a la carte." I admit that the whole reason I paid my $2 or $3 a day for a la carte was b/c it was the popular thing to do. In 7th grade it was so important to fit in, in 8th I went back to the cheaper way of bringing my lunch.

I know this will sound gross, but for years I took a sandwich made with American cheese and sandwich spread. I don't even like American cheese any more and not sure about sandwich spread (for those of you that don't know what that is, I think Hellman's makes it and it's just mayo with relish in it). I must have got sick of that, b/c I've moved on.

On my mission, I ate Pasta Roni or similar things, but always pasta for lunch. I gave in and ate lots of "yellow death" (mac & cheese), but never once at Ramen, my whole mission.

Now that I'm a working professional, I take PB&J (it has to be raspberry or boysenberry) and have for 3 years. Everyday, well, except the days I go for Rumbi. I eat leftovers, but for some reason don't like bringing them to work and having everyone comment on them as I reheat them in the microwave, so it's PB&J.

I know this all is very random, but as I was eating I was thinking about my lunch. Yesterday, the whole office went out to lunch so I just left the lunch I brought for today. I always make it the night before, so my sandwich was made Tuesday night and here it is Thursday afternoon when I'm eating. It just hit me how good it still was, thus I LOVE PB&J. Some lunches just wouldn't be good 2 days old : )

Is anyone else stuck in a rut of eating the same thing day after day? If so, what's your poison?

I guess I can get stuck in a food rut too, but when I try to stock certain things for myself, it seems there are others in the house who find them and use them up. This forces me to break out of my rut and find whatever else is in the house. Anyway, several years ago, I was eating three thin slices of Healthy Choice Honey Roasted Turkey Breast with one tablespoon of Miracle Whip Light on two slices of whole wheat bread. I did that for about 6 months and then found a new menu. I remember in high school I never had cereal for breakfast. I always had either two English muffins with butter and jam, or two bagels with cream cheese and jam. And of course orange juice.
