Buzzard Mountain...

Last night there was an article on KSL about Eagle Mountain raising their trash collection rates, as well as adding a fuel charge to it all. Rheanna and I were reading the comments made about it and they were quite funny, so I thought I'd share some of them. By the way, this is the pic they used, despite the fact that we all just have dark gray cans.

#1 It's a good thing I throw all my trash out on Ranches Parkway to avoid garbage collection costs, just let the HOA pick it up.

#2 Based on the photo, Eagle Mountain only lets you recycle relish, ketchup, and mustard.

#3 And pickles. Got to give it to Eagle Mountain, they're thinking green!

#4 Trash collection services to cost more in Eagle Mountain? Now they have a High End Trash collection services only at Eagle Mountain!

#5 Limerick Time

They HAVE to PICK UP the TRASH

But NOW they are SHORT on the CASH

They are RAISING the RATE

Which we ALL just HATE

Maybe WE’LL just BURN it to ASH

#6 Eagle Mountain is pretty much trash anyway. Nuff said.

#7 Eagle Mountain located west of Utah's Largest Trailer Park (Lehi), maybe that explains how all the trash blow's into Eagle Mountain?

#8 (This post followed a long gripe about trash costs on Long Island) Serves them right for electing Democrats.

#9 Eagle Mountain will soon be called Buzzard Mountain ... I lot of those people can't afford anything anymore since the gas prices have gone up so much.....BUZZARD MTN!

#10 Why is this newsworthy? Why on earth is this story even worth mentioning? It seems that anytime anyone has anything negative to say about Eagle Mountain it makes the news. Trash Rates?? Come on.

For all the bad publicity Eagle Mountain gets, it is actually quite a nice place to live. I am glad that I live here. I have wonderful neighbors and my kids have a safe place to play. My utility bill with everything included last month was $203.00. That's with water, gas, sewer and yes, even trash. I don't think anyone in the entire state of Utah with a family of 6 could tell me their utility bill is lower. Give us a break and find something worthwhile to report.

The utility bill is part of comment #10, not mine. I wish mine was that low.

The condiment comment made me laugh. But I completely agree with #10--someone in the media has a gripe with Eagle Mountain. They LOOK for bad news to print.

My utility bill was that low in May and June. Not so much in July--we really wanted to have a green lawn. And of course, it's never that low in the winter.

I am just so glad we don't have to seperate and recycle. What a total sham that is anyway! As long as I can throw away my plastics with my t-bones I am OK paying a little more.

Amen Brother Justin! Eagle Mountain is a great place to live. I say we release a nutty story each month so dumb people who believe that kind of crap won't move out to our little paradise.
