Three's the "Lucky" Number, Right?

Some people just have it all…

Bad luck, that is. I have an employee that is just plain having a bad November. She’s a single Mom with two boys, 15 and 4 years old. Early in the month, someone broke into her garage, took a few odds and ends, and ran off with all of their bikes.
Last Monday, she called in from jail. She was almost to work when she was pulled over for running a red light. Upon checking her records, the cop found and unpaid speeding ticket. He cuffed her and took her in. Her car was impounded, she was humiliated. She was out most of the day, and when she did come in was quite shook up by the whole thing.

Today, the latest in her series of events. She called me around 8:30 this morning to see if someone could come pick her up because she was in a car accident. I graciously went and got her. She had pulled out in front of someone with the morning sun glare. Her rear axle was bent from the impact of the T-bone. Fortunately, this happened right in front of a collision center, so she was able to avoid a tow. She came to work, but has now left again to go to the hospital due to neck pain.

Can I just say I’m thankful to be me and dealing with the small matters I have? I know I’m rotten, because I find humor in all of her woes.
