Are you for Real?

Last Friday morning I was sitting alone in my office. I heard the door open. Since no one else was in yet, I walked out to the front to see who had entered. There I saw a short middle-aged lady dressed in pin striped overalls. I asked if I could help her. She smiled and said that she was here from Qwest to fix our fax line. We don't use Qwest, but are in the process of switching over to them, so I assumed that's what she was doing. I showed her to the room with the server, security system and phone lines. Thinking she was a Qwest repair man, I went back to my desk. I could hear her using her equipment, getting dial tone, all that good stuff. She later came and said good bye and wished me a good weekend. (Which I took literally, and later ditched work and went and saw a movie with Aaron, but that's a whole other story).

Well, Monday came, and we soon realized we had no fax line. That's weird, since it was supposedly fixed. Calls were made to various companies and it was determined that our fax line was terminated. Weird. Then the call was made to Qwest, only to find out that they have no record of sending anyone to our office. They did come out on Wednesday and fix the issue though. So, in the end, I let this nice "innocent" grandma in to fix the phone line and she sabotages our fax. Go figure, is it a scam, a joke, does she have dementia? Who knows, but next time, I'll check for some type of ID from random repairmen.

That is really weird! What would be her motive? Did she get anything out of the deal?
