Friday afternoon we headed up to Six Lakes in Altamont. We had 6 boys from our ward, and 8th ward went with us. This is some property my company owns, but I'd not been there before. From the description and pictures on the website, we thought it was actually Six lakes. In fact, Aaron and I planned to get up at 6 to take a canoe out onto the lake for the sunrise (not for romance, just for the beauty and pictures). When we arrived, we found the lakes were merely puddles, not even a large pond. You can canoe across in a matter of minutes. The campground and facilities were nice though.
Friday night, we had a campfire for everyone to cook their meal and have marshmallows and smores.
The next morning, some got up early and tried the canoes, while others just got warm by the fire. The Stocks got out their rods and caught a couple of fish.
Aaron and I then decided to take the 2 minute trip across the lake. We then decided to race Chett and Dallen, but the only pic we got of our race didn't really include the winners (us). It was fun though. Nice and relaxing with no structure (just for Chett).
After cleaning up camp, we drove north to the Hidden Springs Activity Center, but we had to wait for someone to come, so we played volleyball while we waited.
Finally we hit the rock wall and had a blast. Aaron made it to the top first, but was not close enough to the bell to hit it, but I'll still give him credit for making it, afterall it was the most difficult climb. Darren was the first to hit a bell on top. Chett then went up and hit both bells.
Some required some help : )
Here are some pics of my adventurous climb.
Josh and Chett had opted to do bikes before attempting a rock climb, so when they were done Aaron and I went for a bike road. It was a nice little jaunt thru some cow pastures and back up the hill to the activity center. I apologize for all the pictures of Aaron's backside, next time I'll have him stop and pose : )
Overall, it was a fun trip. It seems for some it was a bit tiring :)
