It seems this week has been slow. Thank goodness it's a 3 day weekend coming up, a break would be nice. On Monday, I got an upsetting email. You see, back in December I reserved a campsite for our ward fathers and sons outing to make sure we had a good spot to go. Well, so much for planning ahead, they canceled my reservation. The snow in American Fork Canyon is too deep and they won't have it plowed until June 6th or after. I was bummed. Thankfully we got together with some friends (Hunts, Balls, Mayfields and Pattons) that night for FHE and that lifted my spirits again as we had lots of fun. The next morning I searched and searched for an alternate location as I was determined to make this outing happen. I finally found one, a little less desirable, but still, it's available on the same date so it brought me huge relief. I then went up to my office in Midway to deliver Rumbi food to them. It's always fun being involved in the catering of food. The back seat of my car was full of good smelling food. I just sat back and visited with all of my coworkers that I don't see much of, it was nice and relaxing, not much of a work day. Then I hit the road just before 3 to cruise down Parley's to get Aaron and James (I was only a few minutes late).
At mutual that night, we decided to talk to the boys about some issues. Well, 3 boys showed up 45 minutes late, needless to say it felt rather unproductive and discouraging. I just hope our abbreviated talk will help remedy some attitudes and desires. I love my calling, but it definitely comes with challenges. Maybe it will help prepare me to deal with my own teenagers some day. After I left there I had to go get my kids at my in-laws. The wind was blowing dust so bad, you could hardly see across the valley. It got so strong that right before I got there the neighbors trampoline was lifted over the fence and slammed into Mario's window, which scared them half to death as they were watching a movie. No real damage though. My throat started hurting like crazy that night, so I blamed the dirty air for irritating it. Well, the next morning it just kept getting worse.
Determined to fight getting sick, I still chose to workout, but only did half of what we planned to do as it was just getting too hard to breathe. More effects of the cold set in during the afternoon on Wednesday. I fell asleep while waiting to pick up Aaron and James. In fact, Aaron banged on my window to scare me awake and told me to get in the back and he was going to drive. It's true I was not fit to do so, but it's nice to have a friend realize and offer just the same. Last night, Hyrum and Payton were going to Grandma's for the night, so they left at 5, which was nice. We really wanted to go shopping for trees, bushes, bark, flowers, etc, but with me feeling lousy, we stayed home and watched National Treasure 2. It was awesome, then we of course watched the American Idol Finale, during which I saw a preview for what looks like an awesome show coming this fall called Fringe. Even though I was sick, it was still nice to just have a quiet evening with Rheanna (we put Alec to bed).
This morning we were all feeling drained, so we skipped the workout and went to breakfast. So now I'm at work wishing the day away and counting down to the weekend, where hopefully I'll be back in full health.

Good call on skipping the workout I think-every one should randomly go out to breakfast every once in a while!
