Dilemma or Opportunity?

The other day I got called by another company, Sundance, for a resume I submitted a month ago. I debated calling them back since I had already accepted my new position at Encover. Well, I called them and decided to be right up front about everything. After discussing it all, they still want to interview me and are willing to pay more (otherwise I wouldn't care to waste my time). So, although, I have announced my new position, maybe I'll stay silent on the matter until I actually start working somewhere else. If any of you have other job offers for me, I'm all ears : )

I was just thinking how funny it is that I work and work and try to advance in my career for self-satisfaction, to take care of my family and to earn more money for both now and the future. At the same time, I would love to be on vacation all the time, so I'm really looking forward to a well-established retirement where I can vacation. I guess it goes with Aaron's saying of "work hard, and play hard." I just wish the hard work was the shorter part of life and playing could last much longer. But for now, I'll just keep looking for better opportunities.

I always say that the weekend is practice for retirement. You work for a longer period of time (5 days) and then you don't work for a shorter period of time(2 days). Retirement is the same. You work for 45 years and then retire for 15 or 20, depending on how long you can live. The better you are about working hard and getting it all done in 5 days the more fun the weekend is. The same with retirement, work hard and save and then retirement is a lot more fun.
