Kudos for Good Manners!

I often wonder if anyone has good manners anymore, especially after a drive on I-15 or a quick trip to Wal-mart. At my last job, you would hardly think of opening the door for a female coworker, as they would take offense.

I’ve noticed a whole different attitude at my current job. In fact, it appears the whole building has learned and practices good manners. Here are a few I’ve noticed. Men always open the door for the women, and the women appreciate it by saying thank you. They don’t expect it, nor do they shun it. When exiting the elevator, all the men always move aside and let the women off first. Holding the door is a common practice when you see someone approaching. Even in the bathroom, people wipe down the counters from their splashing. When I email coworkers I often get a reply of simply “thank you” or “thanks for all you do.”

I know these things aren’t much and maybe you see them all of the time, but I have not seen them much outside church or with friends, so it’s nice to know well-mannered people are still around.

Amen Brother! Manners are never out of style. It is all about upbringin' and learnin'.
