Rheanna

I wanted to take a moment and use my blog as a public forum to tell the world how much I love my wife. Last night, she diligently went through our 72 hour kits to make sure each family member had everything we needed. She then made lists, which soon found their way onto spreadsheets. When she was done, she had made a spreadsheet for each person and color coded everything from what we have in our kits, what we have somewhere in the house that needs to go in the kits, what small things we need to buy, and then the larger purchases. This post is not about the 72 hour kits, but about how thorough Rheanna is when she sets out to do something. She does this in her calling as well as in our family. She is a great example to me of someone that goes the extra mile.

When we were dating, one of the big things that attracted me to her was her set of values and standards. It was so inspiring to me to find someone else that shared these with me exactly. She never waivers in standing for what is right.

I love her determination to master something. This was obvious before we got married as she taught herself to play the piano. At first, this was humbling to find out as I had endured over 6 years of lessons and play very poorly when compared to her. She's great. Another example is her cooking. Looking back on this now, it's kind of funny. When we first got married, she had really never cooked. It wasn't that she was bad, she just hardly knew anything about it. The first few months found many meals of Hamburger Helper or Banquet Take and Bakes (we did avoid the TV Dinners). At the time, she was not in school or working, so she got busy teaching herself to bake and cook. She now has come to the point where she can make anything she wants. Intimidation has gone, and victory prevails. I just need to work on my portion control now : )

Rheanna is truly my best friend. Her mood and emotions affect my own more than anyone else's. Fortunately, she's a happy person so she often puts me in a great mood. Our 6 1/2 years of marriage have been wonderful. I remember when I first realized I was in love with her, and thought that was amazing, but over the last 7 years, that has grown to something far greater than I even thought possible back then.

Rheanna, I love that you are a righteous mother that teaches our children well. I love that you truly want to stay home and nurture them. I love that you love me and are willing to put up with my idiosyncrasies. I love that you are always willing to fulfill your callings and support me in mine. I love that you don't allow the influence of the world to prevail in our home and that you rise above the negativity thrown at you by the Adversary. I love you for being you!

Yea I am blog hopping :) Great post about your wife. I love it when husbands can totally open up and tell their wives everything that they adore about them. Maybe you could tell the secretary for the Y.M. about this great idea ;)
