James is requesting a post, but unfortunately, I have too much going on at work to come up with anything creative. By the time evening comes, I’m too tired or too busy with kids to sit down and do it then. So, until I can remove my stress this one will just be random.
Last week our computer went on the blink. It just turns off. Aaron fixed it last time it did this, but we have no left over parts to do it this time, so I decided it was time for a new one. I found a good deal on eBay, so we are waiting on its arrival so we can move the memory from the old system and hopefully end up with a nice set up. The blessing of cheap stuff on eBay.
Our other little trial is our car. I bought it 3 ½ years ago. All we’ve done to it are brakes, tires and oil. It’s been great that we could take it from 17k miles to 108k with no problems. Now it developed some issues. It’s a CNG car, so I had to find a mechanic to fix it. That was annoying. I called someone I had a card from for CNG, and they never called back. Then I was told by one dealer that Jerry Seiner downtown was the only dealership in SL Valley that serviced them. They won’t even call me back. Fortunately, I found a CNG message board to direct me to a good mechanic that specialized in CNG. Well, $962 later things are running great. Only one little problem is the dash lights that have been on for 2 years won’t turn off. They are working on it right now, but every time they hook their machine up to my car computer it blows fuses. Weird, I know, they’ve never seen it either. I think the car is just attached to those three lights since they’ve been on for so long. Well, more blessings of tithing to find a good mechanic and of a car that’s had cheap natural gas for 3 ½ years.
The other day I was watching Hyrum color on the computer on the church’s Friend website. He colored the little boy yellow. He told me to look and I did and said that the baby was jaundice. He responded with, “You already know his name?” I then explained what jaundice was, but to Hyrum he decided that that boy would be called Jaundice.
I got bummer news the other day and now have to work 8-5 on Tues and Thurs, so no carpool on those 2 days. I decided I had to find the good in this, so I will be able to return and go to the temple weekly on Tuesday mornings again. Anyone else interested in 5 am sessions at Jordan River?
It’s supposed to snow this weekend. I sure hope we get dumped on. It’s hard getting in the spirit of the season with no snow. At least the temps have cooled a bit, but 50 degrees was nice while it lasted.
For James’ sake, I’ll mention that Aaron and Ron took on James and me this morning. We won, but it was all James. As you all know, I have no athletic ability, it was sad to watch. Aaron had to explain rules to me. I made a basket though, James claims I did two. Maybe I’m better than I thought. I proudly got Ron to get the first letter in PIG soon after though, but I still lost doing that. It was fun.
Last night we watched Horton Hears a Who. It’s great. If you read back in July sometime, you’ll remember that I took all 3 kids to see that in the theater while Rheanna had her radiation. While we watched it, Hyrum kept remembering things about the theater, like how it was dark when we watched it there, or the popcorn or folding seats. I guess he needs to get out more. I must say Jim Carrey is a great Horton, he’s also great at the Grinch. Really, he would do well in any Dr Seuss story.
The other day, Aaron and I looked at the 2009 Accord and Odyssey. I know, I need to stop coveting, but they really are nice. I’ll just keep dreaming.
Last Friday we had our company Christmas party at the E-center. The meal was ok, the prime rib great. After dinner, Comedy Sports from Provo did an impromptu routine. It was really entertaining. They used stuff that happens at Encover (my company) to based their humor from. The funniest was acting out a guy that used to trim his arm hair on someone else’s keyboard. Seriously, they should do an episode of that on the Office.
I’ve been seeing lots of previews for LOST coming January 21st. I can’t wait.
Monday night, we took my car up to the mechanic and decided to make FHE of it. We went downtown to see windy snow blowing everywhere, so we drove around Temple Square to see the lights. Sorry kids, but we didn’t want to freeze again this year. We drove over to the Avenues to hopefully see more lights, but I guess some Bah-hum-bugs live there, because there was nothing. Our street seems to be one of the better lit ones that I’ve seen this year.
I took Aaron out to lunch for his birthday. We were sitting there eating and Greg Miller walked up. What a coincidence. Granted it was McDonald's, but still, he's over 117 different stores, funny it was the same one.
Time to get back to processing credit cards and sending invoices. But hey, at least it’s Friday.

Now that is a travelogue. I liked the part about us spanking Ron and Aaron. And yes he did make 2 shots.
